Molly, Milly, Mandy and Poppy finished

I've finished the four Flat Coated retrievers. It's not photographed as well as I would have liked as the tongues have bleached a bit, but it's the best I could do with the lighting conditions. It is for a gift but my client has said I can put it on the internet as it won't be seen. My client, who commissioned the piece, is thrilled with it. I hope it gets the same reaction from the owner of the dogs.

Another four subject portrait next which is also a surprise present so no blogging progress pics I'm afraid.

Four dog portrait

I've finished the first dog on the four dog portrait. I've made a start on the second but have now got a blinding headache so I think I'll have to call it a day. There's always housework to do instead I suppose :-((

1947 Dodge finished

Here's Dolly finished. I'm really pleased with the finished portrait. My client has asked me to do another classic car portrait. This time it's a 1950 Chrysler Coupe. Anyway it's back to doggies for the next portrait. Unfortunately I can't put it on the blog as it's for a surprise gift.

1947 Dodge

I've nearly finished 'Dolly', about another hour to go but I'll have to finish her tomorrow as the light has faded now.

1947 Dodge

I've done another couple of hours on the Dodge today. My client is really pleased with her so far and to be honest so am I. I had worried about completing this portrait but now I've got into my stride I'm really enjoying it. I'm now getting more of a 'feel' for the shape and lines. Hopefully when I come to photograph the finished portrait the light will be better so that the background doesn't look so grey.

1947 Dodge

I've managed to finish the bumper area today and I'm hoping to get the front wheel and paintwork above it completed tomorrow.

1947 Dodge

Thought I'd show you where I'm upto with the classic car. It's very slow going. Partly as I've never done a car before and it's got no fur :-)) and also the grill on the front took me ages. I'm hoping that when I've finished the reflection in the windows the main body of the car might work quicker. About 12 hours so far.

Let it snow.....

We've had alot of heavy snow overnight and this was the scene at 8 o'clock this morning. It's snowed lightly all day but has started to get a litle heavier now and I think it will continue through the night. It took hubby over three hours to get to work this morning when it usually only takes about 40 minutes. He's left work early so hopefully it won't take him over three hours to get home. I've got my fingers crossed that we now don't get power cuts which can be the norm when we've had a heavy snowfall. That would just cause some problems with my work as I'd have no computer and no light.

Slow progress with the classic car today although it is taking shape now. I think it's partly slow going as the subject is alien to me but also the grill on the front has taken ages to do.

Stuff

Happy New Year everyone.

We've had a lovely Christmas and New Year with family and friends. We're taking the last of the decorations down today, can't believe its over and done with for another year.

We had snow, snow, snow, all day yesterday so its a Winter Wonderland again this morning, clear blue skies and very cold.

Back to normal tomorrow. I have managed to outline the classic car during the holiday so will start and fill in the colour tomorrow. Hopefully I'll do a good job on it as I think there are more in the pipeline if I do....pressure :-))

Anyway here's hoping 2010 brings everybody plenty of commission work.
