Stuff

Well I've started and finished the Cocker Spaniel. The people who are giving it as a gift are over the moon with it, lets hope the owners will be when they see it.

I'm afraid my blog is going to be really uninteresting for a while as my next few commissions are surprise presents. I'll just post them when I know they've been given to the recipients.

Had a lovely evening last night. My step daughter is over from Spain so she came to see us. Roast dinner was on the menu as it's her favourite with a host of Yorkshire puddings as requested as apparently in Spain they only give you one!!!!!!

Fly finished

I've finished the Husky portrait and his owner is pleased with it.

Unfortunately my next commission is for a gift so I won't be able to show any progress pics.

Fly

I've done some more work on Fly this morning, I'm now on the neck area which I've got to use another photo as ref. for. On the original Fly is lying down in a van with the tops of his front legs showing which wouldn't have looked right on a portrait.

Finn

Whilst I was working yesterday little Finn decided to make himself comfortable under the throw on the sofa. He looked so comfortable and cute.

Fly

That's it for Fly for today, more tomorrow.

Fly

Fly is really taking shape now, I've done quite a bit of work on him this morning. I'm going to have a break now and then do some more this afternoon.

Fly

I've worked on Fly today and this is where I'm upto so far.

Fly

Here's the start of Fly a gorgeous Siberian Husky, sadly no longer with us. It's a bit slow going this portrait as I've got a bad back and can't sit for too long at a time to work. He's a stunning dog and hopefully his portrait will do him justice.

Oscar finished

I've worked on Oscar over the last couple of days and finished him yesterday. His owners are really pleased with the finished portrait. It's 16x12 on Fisher 400. I still definately prefer to work on the pastel mat but they don't have an oatmeal colour which I like to work on for some subjects.

My next project is a Siberian Husky which I will probably start on Monday. I've also got another Golden Cocker Spaniel to do which is a small portrait that I might start today but there's no rush for that one.

I hope everybody has a lovely weekend.

Oscar

My next commission is this gorgeous Golden Cocker Spaniel puppy. Sadly Oscar passed away at just over 12 months old. His owner had a particular photo of him that she wanted me to work from. This is where I'm upto so far. I'm using the Fisher 400 paper as recommended by Sue. It's taken me a while to get the hang of it as it does work differently than the other papers that I use but I've got the hang of it now, the only problem is my fingers are sore from blending on it. Anyway I'll do some more on it tomorrow.

Stuff

Another wet day. What a week we've picked to have a holiday. I'm really glad we didn't go camping. I might do a bit of work today as I doubt we'll go out anywhere in this weather. I've actually missed my working routine and must admit I'm getting slightly twitchy and want to get back to it.
